Hunter Needs Our Help!

Hunter
is a one-year-old fawn male that came to Lone Star Boxer Rescue through the help of a good samaritan.

Hunter was hit by a car, and although we are not completely sure of what all this poor guy has been through, the x-rays lead us to believe his two breaks were over a week old by the time he came to us.

Bless his heart, he had to endure horrific pain before he was rescued.

He has numerous gouge marks in his side, possibly from an attack by another dog, and is being treated for sarcoptic mange as well.

This young guy is a real trooper; with all the pain he is in and his horrible skin condition, he is very sweet and good natured. He seems to do okay with other dogs, but more evaluation is needed. He hasn't yet been evaluated around cats. He is crate trained, but we do not know if he is housetrained at this point.

Hunter will require surgery with an orthopedic surgeon to repair the break. Because the break is one to two weeks old and some calcification of the bones is involved, we are not sure how involved the surgery will be. But we feel certain Hunter will make a full recovery with the caring surgeon and staff we have working with him.

LSBR is doing all we can to help Hunter recover, but we need your help as well. If you can contribute toward his medical expenses, we - and Hunter - would be so grateful.
