Shammi Kapoor’s son Aditya Raj Kapoor is back on Big screen

Bollywood legend Shammi Kapoor’s son Aditya Raj Kapoor says 2010 will be the Kapoor family’s year of revival because he himself is set to appear in the new film “Chase” and cousin Randhir Kapoor too makes a comeback with “Housefull”.

“This is the year of revival of the Kapoor family as Randhir is also making his comeback with ‘Housefull’ on the same day as ‘Chase’ Two Kapoors on the same day is big business. All of us are very excited,” Aditya told IANS in an interview.

In Jagmohan Mundhra’s “Chase”, 53-year-old Aditya plays an industrialist with grey shades. He feels this role will help him create an identity in the industry.

“In the film I play the role of an industrialist who wants to do things for his personal satisfaction rather than common good. It is a role I am really looking forward to as it will help me establish myself as an actor,” he said.

“Jagmohan had put me into many workshops, which helped me get the correct nuances of the role,” he added.

Despite the long legacy, Aditya decided to break away from the family’s acting tradition and started his own business. For the last 15 years he has been into the construction business and developed amusement parks like the popular Appu Ghar in New Delhi and Fantasy Land in Mumbai.

Besides his construction business, Aditya has directed films like “Shamaal”, “Sambar Salsa” and “Don’t Stop Dreaming” in the past.

“I decided not to take up acting as I felt I needed to understand the outside world at large. I started my own business...and now as I have an established family under me, I felt it was time that I could begin my career as an actor,” he said.

Aditya, who has previously done walk-on parts seen in films like “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” and Salman Khan-Madhuri Dixit-starrer “Dil Tera Ashique”, says acting gives him cold feet.

“I do get cold feet. I was scared while enacting my scenes, but Jagmohan helped me a lot to overcome the fear.

Asked why he calls himself Aditya Raj Kapoor when he is Shammi Kapoor’s son, he replied: “It is a tribute to my grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor. I feel his blessings stay with me all the time.”

Aditya is also all praise for nephew and actor Ranbir Kapoor. “I think Ranbir is the current superstar and has a good 20 years’ stretch in front of him. He has been doing very meaningful work and I am happy for him,” he said.

“Chase” is slated for release April 30. Apart from Aditya, the movie also stars Annuj Saxena, Udita Goswami, Samir Kochar, Rajesh Khattar, Sanjay Mishra and Shweta Menon.

The actor has two other films lined up as well -- “Mumbai 118” and “Deewangee Ne Hadd Kar Di”.

Veer is about father-son relationship

After "Paa" we have another "Paa", it's not a sequel of "Paa" but Sallu is coming with his new movie with Father-Son relation.

Salman Khan, the macho super star of bollywood who plays the lead in Anil Sharma’s upcoming flick ‘Veer’ opposite stunning Zarine Khan, is said to have been deeply influenced by his relationship with father Salim Khan while writing the script for the film.

As the upcoming flick ‘Veer’ is based on father-son relationship (Mithun Chakravorthy plays father to Salman Khan and Sohail Khan), Salman Khan based this relationship largely on his own experience with Salim Khan. Sources say that Salim Khan and Salman Khan have a very friendly relationship but the former was very strict and disciplined in matters of decorum and education.

In fact, once in childhood when Salman flunked in his maths paper, he could not gather courage to face his father. But finally, when he informed about the whole thing, Salim was very understanding and told him to concentrate more on his studies next time. A similar sweet but disciplined script has been written by Salman Khan for his upcoming flick ‘Veer’, which even his father loved.

Salman Khan is playing the part of a Pindari warrior in the film, which is being directed by Anil Sharma of ‘Gadar’ fame. Zarine Khan, who is not only gorgeous looking but also has some resemblance to bollywood hottie Katrina Kaif, enacts the part of a Rajput Princess.

The movie has been set in eighteenth century British India when there were small territories under local rulers. The shooting has taken place on real locations in India and abroad. Its total cost has gone up to about Rs 50 crores. Miss UK Lisa Lazarus also plays an important role in the flick.

‘Veer’ is produced by Vijay Galani and due for a worldwide release on January 22. Sources close to production house say that though it is a period flick but has all the ingredients of laughter, romance and emotions, which are generally not associated with such type of films.

The film is important for Salman Khan’s bollywood career as after his last super hit flick ‘Wanted’, the other two ‘Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna’ and ‘ London Dreams’ had not done any spectacular business at the box office. aa" , it's not Salman Khan, the macho super star of bollywood who plays the lead in Anil Sharma’s upcoming flick ‘Veer’ opposite stunning Zarine Khan, is said to have been deeply influenced by his relationship

Salman Khan Become Villain

Katrina Kaif Dance For Salman Khan

Kat dances for Salman, Dubai

Here’s proof that Katrina Kaif’s becoming the next big thing in Bollywood. Event organisers of a Dubai concert on December 2 featuring Salman Khan and Kat went into a tizz when the actress was diagnosed as having a low haemoglobin count in Mumbai and advised bed rest.
Katrina Kaif
The show, a Salman-Kat Nite featuring the hot couple performing to hit songs from their films, appeared to be a non-starter with the actress left too weak to perform after being in and out of two leading hospitals in Mumbai and being advised not to do any hectic activity like singing and dancing. Salman solo, naturally, would not have the same impact. Besides, people had paid for a double act!

Then began a flurry of phone calls with the organisers pleading with Kat not to let them down. The actress, whose doctors told her it would take three months for the haemoglobin count to return to normal, relented... but said she would not be able perform any numbers; instead, she suggested she take centre-stage, do a mock jig, and wave out to the crowds.

The show organisers promptly agreed. And that is how Dubai got its Salman-Kat Nite. With the actress disregarding medical advice not to go up on stage and dance even if she was paid a hundred crores. Don’t know about crores, but the buzz from Dubai is that Katrina Kaif’s ‘Hi-Hello-I Love You Dubai’ was worth at least Rs 80 lakh.

Salman Khan Prefers Asin !

Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan and Asin Thottumkal

Ever since their coming together in the film LONDON DREAMS, Asin and Salman Khan's chemistry has been under the public scanner. Now, after their much talked about bonding during the shoot of the film, the latest buzz is that the equation between the two has progressed to the next level.

According to the reliable sources, "Salman and Asin have hit it big on the personal front. Both the actors have become thick friends post the shoot of LONDON DREAMS. Now, Salman seems to be taking more interest in Asin than Katrina and it seems the new friendship between the two is growing by the day."

Though, earlier it was reported that Ajay Devgan is Asin's good friend, but now it seems the actress has the backing of the muscular Khan as far as her personal life is concerned. Well, for the moment Katrina surely has a new competitor to deal with.

Veer Similar To Jodha Akabar??????

Veer Similar To Jodha Akabar??????

Recently the first look promo of Veer was launched and one can't get over the similarities it has to Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar, a film which swept all awards last year. Not only have they used an almost identical font for the supers in the promo, many of the shots and treatments are similar. While Jodhaa Akbar had Hrithik bare-chested holding a shield in an elephant taming sequence, the promo of Veer shows a shirtless Salman holding a shield as well. Several top angle landscape and action shots are extremely similar as is even the dialogue about each character talking about the love for their nation. While Jodhaa Akbar used the line 'an epic romance' Veer has used 'an epic love story' and an almost identical font. Inspiration is a good thing, but we can't say the same thing for blatant copying. It looks like Veer is drawing from Jodhaa Akbar in order to recreate the same magic, but instead of awing us the way the promo of Jodhaa Akbar had done; we felt Veer was a weak attempt at aping Gowariker's magnum opus. Quite sad actually because some of the shots of Veer have massive scale and a more original, shorter trailer could have really created an impact. The film maybe something great, but we can only hope that Veer's campaign stops treading the path of Jodhaa Akbar, and begins looking for something original.

Katrina Kaif Or Zarine Khan?

Katrina Kaif Or Zarine Khan?

Opposite Salman Khan in Veer is Zarine Khan. Zarine looks strikingly similar to Sallu's girlfriend Katrina. According to industry buzz, Zarine Khan caught Sallu baba's fancy while filming Yuvraaj where she also doubled for Katrina. A member of the film's production unit had made things more interesting by telling the media that he mistook her for Katrina's sister. "But it turns out they are not related. The resemblance is uncanny," he was quoted as saying. Given Sallu's history with look-alikes of his lady-loves, one wonders what this pick means.

Bollywood Style Weddings

In vogue: Weddings, the Bollywood style

Five, six, seven, eight. Groove to the beats. Get your rhythm right. Practice the steps again. No, this ain’t a dance class in progress. It’s simply the choreographer training enthusiastic parents and relatives of the bride to stage a mega dance performance on her D-day. Choreographers, Bollywood performers and scriptwriters are now the faces of the entertainment business in weddings.

So if you have the moolah then a Bollywood performer will come on board - the fees depending on the popularity of the star or the starlet. While SRK is rumoured to charge a couple of crores for a function and Salman supposedly gets paid Rs 1 cr, lesser known stars such as Malaika Arora, Mahima Choudhary and Dia Mirza can charge anywhere between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh each.

But if you don’t have the budget or the inclination to go overboard, try a wedding choreographer instead. Interestingly, there are variations that have come in within choreography as well. Explains freelance choreographer Vrinda Nichani, “People are experimenting with new ideas. They are also making it into a skit, enacting scenes and dancing. I teach them both acting and dancing as choreography is all about emotions. For the dialogues, they either hire a scriptwriter or write the dialogues themselves.”

Nichani charges a higher fee if the choreography includes acting as well. So its Rs 50,000 for 10 songs for a duration of about 20 minutes. But in case it involves acting as well, she charges Rs 70,000 for the same number of songs.

Professionals such as Nichani are now highly sought after for such lavish wedding functions. Ask Divay Dua, another Delhi-based choreographer who has his hands full this season. “I have already done five weddings in the past two months. We do a lot of act-based choreography in the sense that the songs involves a theme and a story.

A lot of people now prefer choreographed dances to Bollywood performers as they want to be directly involved in putting up a good show,” feels Dua who charges Rs 25,000-Rs 30,000 to stage eight songs in a function. The sangeet is just not complete without their presence. All inhibitions have been put to rest. For choreographers and scriptwriters, this means big bucks all the way.

Katrina Kaif in Salman's Veer

Katrina Kaif in Salman's Veer - No the statement is wrong, She is Beautiful Zarine Khan
Salman VEER Khan did not notice Zarine’s similarity to Katrina Kaif??

Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood who has one of the best physiques in the industry to play the warrior in a period flick like ‘Veer’, has denied flatly that Zarine Khan got the lead role opposite him because of her uncanny resemblance to sizzling hot sexy bombshell Katrina Kaif.

In fact, Salman Khan went to the extent of saying that he cast Zarine Khan, a newcomer in bollywood, as a fresh face like her could give unpredictable twists and turns to the period flick. The industry has been abuzz from the very beginning that Salman Khan chose Zarine Khan to play the lead opposite him in Anil Sharma’s ‘Veer’, as Katrina Kaif had refused the flick and Salman was adamant on casting someone who looked like Katrina Kaif, his beau.

As Zarine Khan was already playing the body double of Katrina Kaif in Subhash Ghai’s ‘Yuvvraaj’, Salman Khan had no difficulty in choosing her to play the role.

Salman Khan not only had the final say in selecting Zarine Khan opposite him for the flick but also wrote the script of the film after getting inspired from Hollywood’s classic flick ‘Taras Bulba’. It was around twenty years back, when he was shooting for his flick ‘Baaghi’, that the macho Khan had completed the script of this flick.

In fact, the period flick starts in year 1875 during the British era. However, Salman Khan has made the script look contemporary by making suitable changes in the storyline of the flick, which finally got translated on celluloid by director Anil Sharma.

As the period flick revolves around the story of a Pindari warrior fighting against British Rule in the country, Salman Khan had to continuously ride horses during the shooting of the flick. He would start at six in the morning and the shooting continued for almost twelve hours after that.

It was especially painful for Salman Khan during the long shooting spell in Rajasthan’s desert. As the long war sequences were shot in Rajasthan, Salman felt exhausted after shooting for twelve days in succession on horse back.

As ‘Veer’ is due for a worldwide release on January 22 next year, Salman Khan is leaving no stone unturned to make the film a success at the box office. He recently showed the unedited version of the flick to his father veteran Salim Khan and received a lot of appreciation for the superb portrayal of his character.

Salman Khan Wanted Veer

Salman Khan Wanted VEER to break all records!!

Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood who played a hit man in super hit flick  ‘Wanted’ wants his upcoming flick ‘Veer’ to hit the bull’s eye and break all records at the box office.

Sallubhai emphasized that he had always believed that Anil Sharma (the director of ‘Veer’) was one of the best directors in the country and this would again be proved with the super success of upcoming ‘Veer’ at the box office.  Salman also underplayed the rumors of differences between him and the director Anil Sharma.

In fact, Sallubhai felt that the creative differences were useful for the flick. In any case, he believed that both persons wanted the betterment of the flick at heart and so these differences should not be overstated. Miss UK, Lisa Lazarus, plays the female lead opposite Salman Khan in this period flick, which has been produced by Vijay Galani.

Meanwhile, the first preview of ‘Veer’ was held at a suburban theatre and Salman Khan was very excited about the whole thing. So much so that Sallubhai took his father Salim Khan (of the famous jodi of Salim-Javed, associated with biggies like ‘Sholay’, ‘Zanzeer’) to the theatre and made him view the flick before its release.

It was after a long twenty years that Salman Khan invited his father Salim Khan to witness his film and express honest opinion. His first film to be shown by Salman Khan was ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’, wherein he made his bollywood debut. The movie was a rocking success at the box office.

Even this time Salim Khan liked Salman Khan’s character in ‘Veer’ and blessed him. The occasion and blessing of Salim Khan was especially important for Salman Khan as it was Salim Khan’s 74th birthday, and Salman wanted to make the day memorable to him.

It may be recalled that Salman Khan had especially taken tips from Aamir Khan to build his body to play the character in Veer. Aamir Khan was too happy to oblige and divulged to Sallubhai some of his secrets regarding his fabulous body in ‘Ghajini’.

The flick also has a sequence where Salman Khan fights with a lion, while saving the life of his love interest in the flick. In fact, the scene had Lisa Lazarus going on a hunt in the jungle, where the lion attacks. But Salman saves her after fighting with the lion.

The shooting of the flick has taken place mostly in London and India. The post production work is going on in full swing and the flick is scheduled to see the light of the day on January 20, when it will be released worldwide in theatres.

Salman & Aamir Celebrate Bachelor Night

Salman & Aamir Celebrate Bachelor Night

salmanaamirkhanduskadum11_310There was a time when both Salman & Aamir were rivals. They hated & avoided each other. After Andaaz Apna Apna Aamir even vowed that he will never work with Salman again as he was unprofessional.

And now a time has come when both share a "chuudy-buddy" kind of friendship bond. During promotion of Ghajni Salman & Aamir re-bonded & patched up. According to our sources, Aamir and Salman are so fond of each other’s company that both the actors make special effort to take out time from their respective busy schedules to enjoy one another's company.

Recently, while talking to a news daily, Aamir said, “Yes, I am very fond of Salman. I also spend time with him whenever we can match our schedules.”

Rumours have it that when Aamir’s wife Kiran is not around, the actor packs off his staff except the security personnel’s so that he can visit his friend Salman.

According to a close source, Aamir drives to Salman’s residence in Bandra at midnight where the latter takes out his red bike and both of them go on a joyride while the security guys follow them in their respective cars. After the ride, Aamir and Salman go to Salman's bachelor pad in Bandra to enjoy some drinks.

Aamir is very particular & strict about his diet & health. But when it comes to Salman he is always ready to break the rules & have fun. He eats, drinks & smokes.Their meeting includes all the essential features of male bonding.

Salman is a real night creature. He used to ride Rikshaws at night on the roads of Bandra with Govinda on back seat. Bandra Rikshaw walas knew him so well that they would give their rikshaws, to ride, readily to him if he approached them.

Aamir-Salman are also share professionally bonding with each other. Both of them are holding special previews of their flicks for each other. SRK would sure be sad on missing out on the supposed "Bachelor night outs".

Salman Khan, Zarine KhanThe theatrical promos of Veer are out today and newbie Zarine Khan who is paired opposite Salman Khan comes off as a look-alike of Katrina Kaif. The only difference is that she is a chubbier version of her successfu

l colleague (See Picture).

Buzz is that Zarine was selected as busy Kat had no time for Sallu's dream film.
Katrina shouldn't take this as a compliment. As Salman is rather fond of casting girls who look like his flames.
Remember Aishwarya's surreal imitation Sneha Ullal in Lucky No Time For Love? Hopefully, Zarine's career will take a better turn than Sneha's!

Asin: Going with the Wind

Asin made a name for herself in the South with her performance in various kinds of roles and began her journey in Bollywood with Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan, which was a blockbuster hit. But her second movie, the newly released London Dreams with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn has opened to mixed reviews. But that has not in the least dampened Asin's spirits. "People who have watched London Dreams, ask me why I did it when my part in it is quite limited. These are people who have seen me perform in the South. When I signed on the movie, I knew what I was getting into. The movie is primarily about two friends, and every other character in the movie supports the main theme. But if you ask me, I saw it as a great opportunity. What more can a new actress in Bollywood ask for than to act with three of the most revered in her first two movies? I am just going with the flow," she says.
