Bollywood Wish List For 2010

Bollywood Wish List For 2010
What celebs look forward to in 2010

Quite a few interesting films are lined up for release early 2010. Be it director Sajid Khan, Sirish Kunder or Ken Ghosh, they are all looking forward to their creations in the New year. While 'My Name Is Khan' and 'Kites' are the hottest contenders when it comes to the most awaited films, there are quite a few others like 'Rann' and 'Teen Patti' that may be exciting.

Producer-writer Shirish Kunder has another choice. 'In 2010, I am waiting most for 'Tees Maar Khan'. With Farah Khan at the helm of affairs and Akshay Kumar leading the case, it's going to be the peak of commercial cinema,' he told IANS. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, hence bringing the two namesake actors together for the first time.

It may not be on the wish list of many but 'Run Bhola Run' is what excites Tusshar Kapoor most. 'For obvious reasons I am waiting for this film the most,' said the actor who will be seen with Govinda again after 'Life Partner'.

Minissha Lamba is waiting for her 'Well Done Abba'. This Shyam Benegal-directed film has been making waves in the festival circuits and is now being lined up for theatrical release. 'I am looking forward to 'Well Done Abba'. However, there are also films like 'Raavan', 'Veer', 'My Name Is Khan', 'Kites' and 'Dostana 2' on my wish list,' she said.

Ken Ghosh had a hit 'Ishq Vishk' and a miss 'Fida' with Shahid Kapoor over the years gone by. However, he is confident of 'Chance Pe Dance' hitting the bull's eye. 'Other than my own film, I am also waiting for 'Kites'', he says.

Newbie Urvashi Sharma, who began as a leading lady with 'Naqaab' and played a small role in 'Baabarr', is excited about turning over a new page in her professional career in 2010. 'I am really looking forward to two of my own films - 'Khatta Meetha' and 'Nishaad' - both with Priyadarshan. Apart from these two films, I also want to see Ambika Hinduja's 'Teen Patti' which has Mr. (Amitabh) Bachchan in it.'

Rituparna Sengupta, who was seen in 'Do Knot Disturb', has a lot to look forward to in 2010. 'For me, the most awaited films in the New Year are my own like 'Mittal vs Mittal', 'S.R.K', 'Paroksh' and 'Bum Bum Boley'.'

For filmmaker Jagmohan Mundhra, who is working on multiple films, it is 'Apartment' all the way. 'The film is ready and it should release very soon,' he said. Though she has a pivotal role in 'Apartment', it's 'Rann' that excites Neetu Chandra the most. 'It is going to be my first release of 2010 and I am counting days for the January 29 release of the film.'

Sajid Khan, who will release his 'Housefull' in May, said: 'It's obvious that 'Housefull' would be my as well as audiences' choice of 2010.' For Kareena Kapoor, the choice is obvious - 'Ra 1'. Though she is not saying it yet, the buzz is that she has more or less signed on the dotted line for this Shah Rukh Khan starrer sci-fi super hero film which is being directed by Anubhav Sinha of 'Dus' fame.

Shah Rukh Khan ( SRK )Patch-Up With Vishal

Shahrukh Khan ( SRK )Patch-Up With Vishal

http://www.khaleejtimes.com/images/srk-81209.jpgA FEW MONTHS ago it was reported that Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) and Vishal Bharadwaj had an ugly spat, and SRK swore never to work with Vishal again.
But the recent news is that the actor and the director have now called a truce.
Apparently, Vishal apologised to SRK numerous times but to no avail. But SRK seems to have had a change of heart and agreed to forgive and forget.
Our source in the industry says, “Shah Rukh met up with Vishal last week and they had a long meeting in which they agreed to bury the hatchet. They even discussed numerous story ideas, which may, in the future, translate into films, so if you see Shah Rukh in a Vishal film very soon, don’t be surprised.”
Reportedly, SRK recently watched Kaminey and complimented Vishal about it and asked the director to meet him. Following which Vishal complimented the actor in the media by saying, “Shah Rukh is among the best actors in our country and I would love to direct him in a film.”
Wonder what triggered this sudden change? Industry insiders insist that SRK joining hands with Vishal is the result of good friend Farah Khan teaming up with archrival Akshay Kumar.
Explains our source, “Farah has moved on to Akshay and this has made SRK very insecure and he is now trying to grab as many talented directors as he can. He doesn’t have much choice.”
A filmmaker, who wishes to remain anonymous, reveals, “The only big director willing to work with SRK is Karan Johar but Karan directs a film only once every few years and SRK can’t wait for that long.”
The filmmaker further elaborates, “SRK has upset many film directors; he rejected Raj Kumar Hirani’s Three Idiots. After Swades he had a fall-out with Ashutosh Gowarikar, and Aditya Chopra is angry with him for giving away the distribution rights of My Name Is Khan to Fox. It’s his desperation that made him patch-up with Vishal.”
Here’s what had transpired between Vishal and SRK a few months ago: Vishal had approached SRK with a script that he wanted him to co-produce as well as star in. SRK liked the script but he had a few minor changes and suggested them to Vishal. This irked Vishal who apparently told SRK “Who are you to ask me to make changes? Have you ever seen your older films?” Vishal’s comments upset and angered SRK who lashed out at him and vowed to never work with him.
Vishal then took the same film to Hrithik, but since Hrithik was committed to Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the actor excused himself. Vishal then realising his folly, apologised to Shah Rukh, however at that time, SRK was in no mood to forgive.
Vishal, supposedly, even asked their mutual friend, lyricist and filmmaker Gulzar, to plead his case to SRK, but that didn’t help either. Our source reports SRK told Gulzar, “I respect you but that man has insulted me and I don’t want to ever see him.”
But it looks like SRK has now had a change of heart and wants to forgive and forget. Desperate times call for desperate measures, don’t they?

Director Anurag Basu says, The story is very cute. Tanvi Azmi is playing Shah Rukh’s wife. They’re hiding inside their room and are dancing.”
Adman Prasoon Joshi says, “We didn’t know if SRK will agree to the idea. I didn’t want to make him Veer Zaara kinda old. It had to be different. So, pehle Shah Rukh ko buddha banaya humne pictures mein, and then showed it to him. He was very sporting and loved the idea.”
Prasoon adds, “He liked the script a lot. Probably he never got a script like that before. His first reaction was, ‘Well, I love it!’ He probably he trusted my work. He didn’t take time to say yes.“Everybody has been going wow over the ad. He has emoted really well. There is a beautiful chemistry between him and Tanvi Azmi.”
Anurag Basu also revealed a secret, he said, “Shah Rukh called his make-up guy and gave him the brief on how to do his look. After the whole get-up was done, he did something very cute.
He clicked a picture of himself and sent it to Gauri on the phone, asking, ‘Will you still love me when I am old and look like this?’ I am sure he will look much more handsome when he is old!

Bollywood Style Weddings

In vogue: Weddings, the Bollywood style

Five, six, seven, eight. Groove to the beats. Get your rhythm right. Practice the steps again. No, this ain’t a dance class in progress. It’s simply the choreographer training enthusiastic parents and relatives of the bride to stage a mega dance performance on her D-day. Choreographers, Bollywood performers and scriptwriters are now the faces of the entertainment business in weddings.

So if you have the moolah then a Bollywood performer will come on board - the fees depending on the popularity of the star or the starlet. While SRK is rumoured to charge a couple of crores for a function and Salman supposedly gets paid Rs 1 cr, lesser known stars such as Malaika Arora, Mahima Choudhary and Dia Mirza can charge anywhere between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh each.

But if you don’t have the budget or the inclination to go overboard, try a wedding choreographer instead. Interestingly, there are variations that have come in within choreography as well. Explains freelance choreographer Vrinda Nichani, “People are experimenting with new ideas. They are also making it into a skit, enacting scenes and dancing. I teach them both acting and dancing as choreography is all about emotions. For the dialogues, they either hire a scriptwriter or write the dialogues themselves.”

Nichani charges a higher fee if the choreography includes acting as well. So its Rs 50,000 for 10 songs for a duration of about 20 minutes. But in case it involves acting as well, she charges Rs 70,000 for the same number of songs.

Professionals such as Nichani are now highly sought after for such lavish wedding functions. Ask Divay Dua, another Delhi-based choreographer who has his hands full this season. “I have already done five weddings in the past two months. We do a lot of act-based choreography in the sense that the songs involves a theme and a story.

A lot of people now prefer choreographed dances to Bollywood performers as they want to be directly involved in putting up a good show,” feels Dua who charges Rs 25,000-Rs 30,000 to stage eight songs in a function. The sangeet is just not complete without their presence. All inhibitions have been put to rest. For choreographers and scriptwriters, this means big bucks all the way.

Shah Rukh, Aamir To Attend Paa Premiere

Shah Rukh, Aamir To Attend Paa Premiere

Shah Rukh, Aamir to attend Paa premiereBollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan says Shah Rukh Khan left him in a jovial mood after the latter called him to confirm his presence at the premiere of upcoming film Paa.
"Shah Rukh has remained with me in the late afternoon. He is a very funny man and shakes me into joviality when I inform him about the premiere and his absolute presence there. He tells me, 'He is already there, black suited and with anticipation of seeing Paa," Amitabh posted on bigb.bigadda.com.

"Aamir too communicates today and confirms his presence," he added.

The cast and crew of Paa – including Amitabh, Abhishek Bachchan and director R Balakrishnan have major plans for the film's premiere December 3 in Mumbai.
Amitabh plays a 12-year-old progeria patient in Paa and he had to stick on several pieces of specially crafted clay to get the right look for the movie. The disease causes premature ageing among children.

International make-up artiste Stephan Dupuis designed Big B's look and the megastar had to sit for five-six hours for the make-up.
The 67-year-old says he is now anxious about how the audience and critics will react to the film. "Slowly but surely the jig saw puzzle will begin to unfold. The test of all our hours and hours of effort at the film shall now be up for scrutiny. And within two hours and 14 minutes the verdict shall be passed. Once passed, shall remain passed. Such is the destiny of those that participate in this wondrous game of filmmaking," he said.
The film is releasing December 4.
