I had a wife named Maria and a son named Vincent, who both died when our house on the third floor caught fire when I was away at battle. I was unable to deal with the grief and jumped to my death, which explains why I’m scared of heights now,” reveals Shekhar.
He feels that he connected with this wife Alka and son Ayush through his past-life regression session. “I recognised Alka in Maria through her eyes. I couldn’t recollect my wife’s name in the past life. When the name came to me, Alka, who was sitting 50 feet away from me, said it at the same time. We’ve always had a very strong bond and I was destined to marry her even in this life,” says Shekhar. That they are now able to account for why Alka feels claustrophobic at times. “That’s because she (Maria) died of asphyxiation,” he says.
As for his elder son, he says, “Ayush was very scared of fire and that’s because he died in a fire in his last life. In his past life, just like in this one, he died prematurely,” he says.
Shekhar also met his father in his previous life. “I saw him in his mansion called Amour. He had a long beard, white hair and was sitting in a huge living room with a hearth,” he recalls.
“The only person I didn’t see was Adhyayan; he was pretty upset about it. So, I told him, ‘You must have been someone else’s monster of a kid,’” Shekhar chuckles.
Why did Shekhar agree to participate in the show? “I believe in it and that’s why I went,” he says simply, adding that it was a good learning experience. “I have the spirit of a warrior in this life too and a never-say-die attitude. It makes me fight a battle without caring if I’ll win or lose,” adds Shekhar.
